One of the places in nature where I find serenity is right here. Moving along with the waves and the currents. Feeling the density of the water pressing against my body as I swim towards the bottom, making my ears pop. I often push the boundaries to see how far down I can go before I need to turn around. Sometimes I´m only a few metres from the surface when my lungs start to contract asking for more air as the oxygen in my body is running low. It’s amazing how a few meters can seem like an eternity before I break the surface with an explosive feeling of relief as my lungs fill up with a big gasp. Almost like I survived what could have been my very last breath. What lies beneath the surface in open water is an intriguingly beautiful world - both scary and welcoming at the same time. A place where I always feel like I need to look over my shoulder…
